It really is exciting to see the slow but sure progress on the new church. The bell tower is growing and is so much higher than I imagined it would be. Here are some photos.

It seemed we remained at this beginning stage forever. Once the foundations was laid and the walls went up, there wasn't any obvious progress.

Just another view from the opposite corner. You can see just a small portion of the present building on the right. Everything all around is dug up and trampled as the workers do their job.
|
 |
Here's even a better view of the new building as it sits to the right of the present building. When complete, the two buildings will look more unified. The shingles, for example will be the same.

 |
Here we're a little closer to the doorway, almost between the two pillars out front. You can see that there's quite a distance between the two. Thanks, by the way, to Sandy Frieberger for taking these great photos.

A view from across the street. It's hard to believe that a year ago that was just a grassy parking area. Now most of us park across the street from the church from where this photo was taken.

 |
Now things are really beginning to take shape. Part of the roof is sheathed and awaiting shingles. The workman climb the scaffolding on the tower as they work. It's much closer to completing since this photo was taken.

 |
Another shot of the tower and church roof. Note the wall extending towards the original building. That's part of the "unifying" structure which will pull it all together.
As of early February, the shingles are being placed on both buildings and the old portico has been removed from the old building. It will be replaced to "match" the new building.

Here is an awesome view of the interior. Can you hardly wait to see it finished?!

From inside the church, looking out to the tower. We hope to get some more pictures soon, especially for those of you who are not in the area to see it for yourselves.
Most of us can't go inside at this point, so Sandy has permission to do so and provide us with these photos. Keep checking back and I'll try to keep them posted.

Looks as if we're going to have the tallest building in Belleview! The bell tower is reaching right up there and you can see the portico taking shape in front of it. It looks so big! Now we can really see it taking shape right before our eyes.

As you can see, the cross was raised above the church and installed on April 30, after being blessed by Father Tim. It was a Wednesday and, although I didn't ask, I suspect it was done during the Wednesday service.
Will we be in by Christmas??
